Hi, I am in a CTE high school, and I am currently a freshman. I am in the Robotics program in my school, but I have a strong interest in Medicine, and going into the medical field. Although I am not in the medical program in my school (too much people), do I still have a chance of potentially going into the medical field?

My grades are good, I am taking advanced classes as a freshman that normally a sophomore or junior would take, (Algebra 2 and Chemistry). I enjoy both and am doing pretty good in them.

Hello Joseph,

It's fantastic that you have a strong interest in the medical field despite not being in the medical program at your CTE high school. Your involvement in the Robotics program showcases your diverse skills and interests. Your good grades and enrollment in advanced classes, like Algebra 2 and Chemistry as a freshman, demonstrate your academic capabilities.

You absolutely have a chance of pursuing a career in the medical field. Consider exploring extracurricular activities or volunteering opportunities related to healthcare to gain exposure and hands-on experience. Additionally, when choosing future courses, try to include biology and other science classes to further align with your medical aspirations.

Keep nurturing your passion for both robotics and medicine, and don't hesitate to seek guidance from teachers, mentors, or professionals in the medical field to help navigate your path.

Best regards,
Houcine

Hello, Joseph !

You sound like you are a stellar student and succeeding with good grades will get you far.

Yes, there is a chance that you can go into the medical field, primarily two niches come to my mind for this. In the field of Prosthetics and also in the field of Simulation.

Prosthetics is a very important career, one in which you will be helping individuals function better and prevent disability. I have left a link for you below you read up more about a career in this field.

Simulation is a very exciting realm of the medical field that you can be a part of. You can take part in the vital development and or training of medical professionals using special mechanical devices. It's much more than one would expect, so I have left a link below for you to read up more on this amazing career.

I am sure that there are more possibilities, but these were just two that came to mind and they happen to be fantastic career choices, in my opinion. Read up on both as much as you can and hopefully you will make a decision including other careers that will be the best fit for you.
