Do you require any skill sets other than the classes to be a technical engineer?

I am asking because some jobs require a lot of patience or being able to hold your tongue or just have to be outgoing. Are there any certain skills I will need to have to become a technical engineer? #engineering #engineer #skills #technical #social-skills #technical-engineer

This question made me smile. You are aware of something that you cannot quite articulate. My advise is not to worry about this. You are part of the millennial generation and it is now widely recognized that you work differently from the previous generations. These generations were content to live in a hierarchical work environment where politics ruled and technical skill was a second class art form. These old ways are falling away as these companies either go out of business or "get with the program" - their older workers who invested in being top notch politicians can't compete because they lack the technical/computer savviness of their younger counterparts who frankly don't give a hoot about politics when they can do the work traditionally done in a fraction of the time. You will have no problems with being diplomatic (i.e., realistic) without wasting energy on political nonsense indicative of a company already on its knees. Be mindful of the fact that you and your peers are redefining the work environment and you will go far!

I would say as with anything in life, the classes serve as a baseline education. They provide you a starting point. I would recommend that you continue to learn and practice outside of your classes. Kahn academy has really great videos that teach more advanced topics, and working on something fun in your free time that relates to your studies is a huge benefit.
