Hi Olivia,
It would be important to know how old you are. At 14 or 15, you need a work permit and can work a maximum of 3 hours a day on school days and not more than 24 hours per week. Many employers won't hire under 16. From 16, you don't need a work permit any more. You'll still need a job that fits around your school hours.
Under 16, private arrangements in your area like babysitting, lawn mowing, cleaning, tutoring, dog walking, pet sitting etc are probably your best bets.
Above 16, it gets easier with respect to regular employers.
Some options:

Another option (at any age) is to identify businesses in your area, print out your resume and show up in person. Persistance is key.
Do you have any talents or skills? If you are good at a sport, you could teach e.g. tennis. If you play an instrument, you could teach e.g. piano. If you can knit, paint, make jewelry etc, you could sell your work.
You can also check job search sites like LinkedIn or monster.com for advertised jobs.
Also consider what kind of career you are aspiring to later and what skills and experiences might look good on your resume. If, e.g. you want to be a veterinarian any job with animals looks better than fast food. If you want to work in hospitality or sales, customer service skills are important.
I hope this helps you along. Good luck!

Something that i usually do is try to research as to what field i want to work in and i reach out to the HR department to ask what the starting wage usually is and if i have experience in the field already I would try to negotiate the starting wage because experience always goes a long way also having references will help a great deal, what I have learned is that starting wages is always worth negotiating because it never hurts to ask the main source that way you are not signing up for anything that would cause junk mail.

Hello Olivia,
How to Find a Job that Pays Good Money and Hires at Your Age
Finding a job that pays well and is willing to hire someone at your age can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. Here are some steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a suitable job:
Identify Your Skills and Strengths
The first step is to understand your skills, strengths, and interests. This will help you determine which industries or job roles might be a good fit for you. You can create a list of your skills, including both hard skills (technical abilities) and soft skills (communication, teamwork, problem-solving). This will make it easier for you to find job opportunities that align with your strengths.
Research Job Market and Salary Expectations
Research the job market and salary expectations for your desired industry or role. Websites like Glassdoor, Payscale, and Indeed can provide valuable insights into average salaries, job growth, and in-demand skills. This information can help you set realistic expectations and make informed decisions about your job search.
Update Your Resume and Cover Letter
Ensure your resume and cover letter are up-to-date and tailored to the specific job you’re applying for. Highlight your relevant skills, experiences, and achievements that make you a strong candidate for the position. Customizing your application materials for each job will increase your chances of getting noticed by potential employers.
Network and Build Connections
Networking is an essential part of the job search process. Connect with people in your desired industry or field through professional organizations, social media platforms, and alumni networks. Attend industry events, job fairs, and informational interviews to expand your network and learn more about potential job opportunities.
Apply for Jobs and Prepare for Interviews
Once you’ve identified potential job opportunities, apply for them by following the employer’s instructions (e.g., submitting your resume and cover letter through their website or email). Be prepared for the interview process by researching the company, practicing common interview questions, and dressing professionally.
Be Open to Entry-Level or Internship Opportunities
If you’re having trouble finding a job that pays well and hires at your age, consider applying for entry-level positions or internships. These opportunities can help you gain experience, build your resume, and make connections in your desired industry.

Hi Olivia! Entering the job market at such a young age, it may be difficult to find a lucrative position regarding income. I would suggest internship opportunities in your desired field. Although they may be non or low paying, the experience that you will receive will be priceless. Additionally, the networking opportunities you will have available to you will open doors in the industry of your choice that will make lucrative career opportunities more available to you as you continue and complete your education in that field.
