What you may want to do is look an activity you are heavily into, then do a Google search for the top colleges in that field. For example, let's say you are into music, writing, or photography. You could search "top colleges for music', etc.

You could also look for clubs/groups at colleges you may want to attend that cater to these activities. For example, let's say you want to go to University of Kansas. It, like most colleges, have a music and writing/English department. There may be clubs/groups such as the Music Group or New Authors Group that you could join.
