Hello, Aiden !
What an interesting and superb career choice you have and I would be happy to give some advice for you to consider.
In order for you to become a professional Environmental Police Officer, you will need to study for becoming a law enforcement officer - a police officer. Therefore, I would say that Criminal Justice and/or Administration of Justice would be good choices for a major to keep under consideration. You'll need to know how to be a police officer. I would recommend getting your Bachelors Degree and minoring in environmental science. Even though you may not know anyone who has taken this path, having your B.S. Degree will get you very far. Anyone who intends to become a police officer must get the training at the police academy, so you will have great administrative potential and administrative opportunities by going the academic route. It may also save you from some redundant training that people who don't have a degree may have to take.
As an Environmental Police Officer, your work will entail protecting our natural resources. Some of the areas that you can work in will be fish, water and air pollution, plants and animals, wetlands, dams, boating safety, water safety, littering and drowning prevention. You will also investigate accidents for criminal activity. You may also perform search and rescue and be present for cases in court. This is why a strong education for law enforcement in college would be in the forefront. You would take a civil service exam and apply for an Environmental Police Officer position when there is an opening. Once you obtain employment, you will have a required on the job training for 20 weeks. So by taking some environmental sciences courses while in college and than having the on the job training once you obtain the position, you will become familiar with the environmental aspect of the job.
I hope that this was helpful and wish you all the best !

How about kicking off your academic journey with Criminal Justice as your main focus? You might also want to consider Environmental Science as a secondary interest. It's a fun and rewarding combination!
Thank you so much for the advice.

It depends on who you want to work for and the specific job. I'd start with looking for the job you're interested in and what their education requirements are.

Your degree may define your long term career path. Is environmental science or criminal justice more interesting to you?

I took criminal justice in college, but it was all academic. If you want to work in law enforcement, specifically environmental policing, you may want to consider going through a law enforcement academy & then work some time as a police officer before going to environmental law enforcement. A lot of places will want you to have a law enforcement background and/or some academic experience which would supplement your knowledge. Also consider taking online courses if they're not too expensive to see what knowledge is needed. Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to help.
