Caymen’s Answer

You can start immediately. I became one at 14. Just have to find the right place online to begin.

Caymen recommends the following next steps:

Noah, feel free to email an article with your name at hello@careervillage.org and I (plus the team here at CV) will help get published on BishopSportsNetwork.com!

Elizabeth’s Answer

Noah,

What a great goal! I love sports and read many articles online about my favorite teams - sports writing is so important.

I always tell young writers to begin their careers by finding their niche, so you're one step ahead of many people your age. The next goal you want to focus on is getting published as much as possible. When you apply for a job in any writing field, they will ask about your published work and for writing samples. If you're headed to college here soon, get a job at the school newspaper. See if you can move into the sports section. From there, internships hold so much value on a resume. Check out online publications that may need an intern for featured stories. These elements will provide you with real experience for when you're in a job interview with ESPN. :)

Good luck! Can't wait to see your name under the headlines for the next Pac-12 championship review.
