it depends on what you consider general maintenance. sometimes it entails maintenance on machines, maintenance on buildings or both. i was at a company for 12 years where i did everything from fixing the roof, programming and repairing the computers on the production equipment, doing mechanical work on the machines, fixing the phone system, HVAC for the building, and unclogging the toilets. to answer your questions.
1. What problems do you have with your work?
you have to fix things quick to keep everyone happy so sometimes it's hard to prioritize. it can get tiring because your running around alot. technology is changing fast so you have to keep up.
2. Why did this job interest you?
i really enjoyed fixing things and being a jack of all trades.
3. What does a typical day entail for you usually?
coming in looking at work orders to see what needs to be done. emergency repairs, periodic maintenance etc. then having the heads of the different departments come to me if the machine broke down or if there was a water leak or broken light bulbs.

Hello Brett,
I'm part of the Procurement team, and our department has a strong connection to the field you're interested in. To inject a bit of humor, it's fair to say that every job comes with its own set of challenges. However, when you're in a role that involves more interaction with people, the likelihood of encountering these challenges might be slightly higher. The most common hurdle here is managing a diverse audience with varying needs and expectations.
What makes this job fascinating for me is its people-centric nature, as opposed to the routine desk jobs. It offers the opportunity to face and overcome unique, spontaneous challenges.
I hope this gives you a clearer picture.
