What are some career choices for a Psychology/Music Major besides Music Therapy?

I am double majoring in Psychology and Music and while Music Therapist sounds great, it is mostly used with populations I am less interested in working with. #counseling-psychology #musicpsychology #psychotherapy

Nancy’s Answer

Samuel, one possibility is to become a licensed psychologist with music therapy as something you offer in your own private practice. That takes a doctoral degree. Or a licensed professional counselor or social worker. You could do those with master's degrees. Another is to become a music teacher, and get a master's in education after your psychology and music double major. A third is to go into the psychology of music as a research area. You would probably need a Ph.D. to do that. A fourth would be to work in a music store and offer lessons. Psychology helps with dealing with students.
