What is a good way to make sure that you have time to get everything done?

I'm working #fulltime and going to #gradschool . I have 2 babies and am worried about having enough time to do everything! #time-management #student #college

Thank you comment icon One thing that's always helped me is keeping a planner. It doesn't even have to be a real one. I use a small legal pad to keep track of and plan out commitments and when I'm going to do which tasks. It's kept me on top of my game all schoolyear. Might not work for everyone, but worth a shot! Calendar, calendar, calendar. I used to have a bad habit of missing meetings and appointments. Then I just became a slave to my calendar. I make sure to add everything to my calendar right away.

Last week, I was at the dentist for my cleaning, afterwards I scheduled the next one for 6 months out and I added it to my calendar right then and there. I just try to make it as much as a habit as possible.

Erica, what I think would work well in your position is to not allow yourself to be overwhelmed. You have to prioritize, maybe decide what is important now and what can be put off.

Hope this helps.

You have to set a routine for yourself and stick to it for the most part. Once you get into the groove of a routine it will be much easier for you to manage your time and have enough time for everything you need to do (including relaxing). Make yourself to-do lists on a weekly basis, use Google calendar or a planner to keep track of events, deadlines, and due dates. In addition to setting a routine and sticking to it, plan out relaxing activities into your day. Or set aside a time, after everything is done for the day, that you can have "me" time. I have also personally found it essential to not only find time for myself but also make use of that time in a way that is best for me and my holistic wellness. I have found the HeadSpace app to be an essential tool in helping me relax and generally feel more relaxed throughout the day, Guided meditation, even if you have a busy schedule, will make you feel more at ease and relaxed throughout the day as a whole (not just when you have the time to relax and focus on that "me" time).

I hear you! So first off I utilize slack to automate some of my work, it helps me set reminders, update relevant docs, and save items for later. Set boundaries! I decline any meetings outside of working hours and utilize the focus time option in Google Calendar, meetings will auto decline with that. If you can update documents and close out action items while you're on your calls, that will also help you. One last thing, delegate. Do YOU need to be the one doing everything? Are there others who can help? If so, ask for help! Good luck!
