That is really a question you would need to answer for yourself based on your interests and goals. Both are demanding careers that require degrees and will not really be 9-5. Both have a function in society and in their own ways help people and society and both can be high paying careers.
To become and engineer you need to at least a 4 year Bachelor's degree with a lot of math and science classes.
To become a doctor, you will need a 4 year bachelors in a science field which can include engineering, pass an Medical School entrance exam, go through a year medical school program and an internship program for hands on learning.
Both will require continuing education to stay up to date on the latest technology and advancements in your field.
If you are interested in both some things to consider are things like biomedical engineering or Biochemical engineering which can combine the two disciplines.
