Some of it depends on the College you go to. For instance a community college may want less than a university. Ultimately doing good in sciences, taking biology and chemistry in high school if you can, there's usually an entrance exam for the nursing program, An Algebra class in high school preferably, and there are prerequisites before applying to some programs. After you go to college you have a state board the NCLEX to take. Then you're a nurse. Do know that there are really 3 basic types LPN, RN with ADN, and RN with BSN. You can research each type to see which one you would like to do, but both RNs are basically the same. RN with ADN is an associates and RN with BSN is a bachelors which can be used for management purposes. Getting your ADN first is an option and youll be able to work as a nurse after passing the NCLEX. An LPN has a different scope of practice, but you can get your LPN and bridge to RN but youll have to take 2 state boards. The boards for each type of RN are the same so if you get your ADN and then get your BSN you only have to sit for the boards one time, because they are the same NCLEX (boards). After you graduate and pass the NCLEX you're a nurse. I'd just do some research on the schools some can be extremely expensive, but remember there's not many places that care where your degree is from just that you're a nurse.

To be a registered nurse, you need to complete a nursing degree and pass the national NCLEX exam. Most nursing degrees require students to complete basic work in the life and behavioral sciences, like anatomy, physiology, microbiology, developmental/lifespan psychology, and abnormal psychology. These upper-level classes typically require some introductory biology, chemistry, and psychology. Some programs will also require math or statistics and English or writing as well. If you are still a high school student, taking math and science classes and learning the material well will set a good foundation for success in nursing school.

After completing your nursing degree, you only need to pass the national exam. You can then practice as a RN and you will finally learn how to be a real nurse!
I'm excited to put your great advice to good use!
