Yes you have to graduate High School, I am assuming that's what you mean. Then you can go to college and get your nursing degree. Then take a state board called the NCLEX. Also for a travel nurse you have to have a compact license or be licensed in multiple states where you want to go because some states do not offer compact licenses. Hope that helps!

While you don't necessarily need a college degree to become a traveling nurse, it can certainly be beneficial. In fact, it might be challenging to locate a training program that provides the prerequisites for the necessary licensing exam without requiring a 2 or 4-year degree. However, apart from experience, there's no additional requirement for you to be able to travel.
Remember, when you're a traveling nurse, you're subject to the schedule and location of the contract or facility you're assigned to. It's also crucial to understand the ins and outs of this unique nursing field. For instance, does your contract cover accommodation, and if so, will you be living alone or sharing with others? Will you need to arrange your own transportation once you're on location? And who's responsible for covering your travel expenses to the new location?
I can't stress enough the importance of speaking to other traveling nurses before embarking on this journey. They can provide invaluable insights and help you avoid potential pitfalls when signing your contract. Trust me, a little research now can save you a lot of headaches down the line!

Hello Bobbi,
Once you have completed High School, you will go on to nursing school. Once you have completed nursing school, you will need to take NCLEX exam. This is something you can do right after graduation or take a couple of months to prepare for. Keep in mind that some licenses are limited to the state they were granted in unless it is a compact state. A lot of traveling nurse companies may want you to have some experience before going into that area. Good luck!!!
