Officer Jody E. Beyer (Ret.)’s Answer
Being thoughtful and empathetic to others is how any successful person can improve their ability to serve their business Client. If you do not place yourself "within the shoes" of that client, you truly can't give that person top level service. If you can imagine how that person feels, then you can know exactly what level of effort and comfort they need. I did this as a Law Enforcement Officer for 16 years. I truly listened to the defendants I had in my patrol car. I took the time to find them the things they needed, because if that person was my son or daughter- I wanted to make sure they felt cared for. EMPATHY and COMPASSION & ETHICS is vital in a successful career. I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

Loving your English classes in school is a great sign for your future as a lawyer. The importance of having a broad vocabulary cannot be overstated, and although you'll certainly master legal jargon during your education and work, the skill to comprehend others and express your ideas clearly is priceless. Plus, the world of law offers a variety of career options. So, if writing is your passion, you can specialize in a field like appellate law, where writing will be a major part of your job. This way, you can turn what you love into your profession.
