Hi Jene, congratulations on being accepted to college! Freshman Year at college is exciting but can be a lot to take in at one time. It is great that you have already started thinking ahead!

In college, you are expected to be more independent, and taking ownership of your own learning. Not all professors will give you cookie-cutter instructions for everything. So I think it is very important for you to let them know if you have a problem, question, or a concern. Be proactive, whether if it is meeting your professors to discuss your concerns during their office hours, or getting extra help from the campus writing center/tutoring if you need it.

Another thing I used to always find helpful is put down all the important dates of exams, assignment/homework dues on your calendar during the first day of class as soon as you get hold of the class syllabus. It will help you tremendously in planning your study schedule and also help you stay on track for all your classes. This way you will know when to prioritize important tasks and will never miss a deadline!

Lastly, college is the greatest opportunity you will ever have for personal development. Be confident and step out of your comfort zone. Keep your support system - parents/friends/professors and don't be afraid to reach out for help and advices when things become overwhelming. I wish you all the best in everything!
