Internships or volunteer opportunities in criminal justice?

I am in high school and I want to have a career in criminal justice. I'm wondering what types of internships or volunteer opportunities I should get involved in now.

Honestly, it really just depends on what you're wanting to do in the criminal justice field. Do you have an idea on what you're wanting to do? For example, if you're wanting to become a police officer I would call your local police department and tell them you're wanting to complete an internship with them. Sometimes they will let you do a ride along with them to get the feel of a police officer or they will give you the correct contact information for the person that will be able to set everything up.
