What universities in Florida have fully online programs for civil engineering degrees?

I am looking for a university that offers an online degree in civil engineering. It must be located in Florida for scholarship purposes and must be fully online. I appreciate your help!

Thank you comment icon You'll need to be with other engineers, especially as a woman, and for hands on stuff like surveying. I wouldn't take this online...unless it was a hybrid course. I'm a retired CE. It must be online????? Becky Weliczko
Thank you comment icon Hi Becky, just a heads up, it's better not to assume someone's gender, especially if the learner is anonymous or hasn't shared their pronouns. Thanks! Sharyn Grose, Admin
Thank you comment icon Hi Macie, I am not so sure, but most of the universities in Florida only offer Master degree (the degree that you will take after Bachelor degree). Trung Vu

Hi Macie. There's an online search tool for civil engineering degrees from the body that accredits civil engineering programs (ABET, Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). Here's the link to the search tool:

https://amspub.abet.org/aps/online-search

There are currently 40 fully-online accredited programs, and several of them are located in Florida. Hope this helps!

P.S. In case you're wondering, why is accreditation important? If you want to become a Professional Engineer (PE), you'll need to earn a license in the state where you work. The license allows you to "stamp" your own work for review and construction, rather than needing someone else with a license to "stamp" your work. A license can allow someone to start their own civil engineering practice, for example. Earning a license usually requires an accredited degree, as well as completing work experience and passing several exams.

State license requirements are often posted online by their regulating body. The Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) does this for example, here's a link to their webpage with license requirements:

https://fbpe.org/licensure/licensure-process/professional-engineers/

Best of luck!
