This varies by agency!
At a minimum, you need a high school diploma. Many agencies require "some college," but I know some will hire you without it and give you a deadline to get it completed. I have never heard of an agency requiring a 4 year degree - the most common is an Associates, or even less. However, this is in Texas.
I recommend you look at the recruiting websites for the agencies you want to work for. Also look at the state agency that regulates law enforcement in the state where you want to work. In Texas, it is TCOLE. Here is the link to Texas requirements. Best of luck!
