Hi Sara,

There are variations in lesson plans based on District requirements, grade-specific requirements, and general teacher discretion. Some school systems have defined templates that must be used. However, a typical lesson plan includes:
Objective
Materials
Anticipatory set (introduction)
Activities
Assessment
Amplification/Closure

Under each section is specific information so an administrator understands your lesson aim and what a substitute might need to know to carry out your lesson. You can google samples of different lesson plan styles, grade-level lesson plans, and videos on how to lesson plan. Please note that much depends on the district/school requirements, but equally your desired way of mapping your lesson from start to end. Thank you for looking into the teaching profession and hope this information gives you more ideas.

Hello, Sara!

Do you mean in general? Some schools have self-contained classrooms, while others have teachers for each or subsets of subjects. So, your lesson plans may include lessons for each core subject or just one or two! There is a curriculum that guides you and gives you general ideas. However, you can always modify lessons to suit your class's needs.

One of my RELA lesson plans from a couple of years ago includes the following:

1. Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS)
2. Lesson Objectives
3. Instructional Materials And/Or Technology Resources
4. Modifications for Diverse Learners/ Differentiation
5. Formative Assessment/ Feedback
6. Introductory/Developmental Activities (I Do)
7. Guided Practice (We Do)
8. Independent Practice (You Do)
9. Closure

I hope that helps!
