How do I get over the fear of having to meet new people in college?

I am very committed to the close friends that I currently have, and I’m really scared about having to start all over with that. I don’t know how to start conversations with new people or how to make sure I don’t just lock myself away and not talk to anyone... tips? #friends

This can definitely be intimidating, but remember that everyone's in the same boat. There are hundreds, or thousands of other freshmen entering college for the first time and they want to make friends too! Try to reach out to your classmates over homework assignments and projects, try to join some clubs so you can meet people with the same interests, try intramural sports, and lastly, you can even try to find an on-campus student job and meet people while working!

College is the place to make friends. Keep it simple smile and introduce your self to your class mate's, avoids topics like politics, religion, talk about choice of subjects that you have taken or the whole applying to college experience. Keep the conversation light and remember to smile. Talk about things that you are passionate about(for me it's education, specially for girls, charities, or even books, movies) college
