I agree with Kelly, Craigslist has many people seeking band members or someone wanting to start a band. There are free band pages like bandmix.com and bandfinder.com Good Luck to you, Peace In Music.

Kelly’s Answer

In the past, I would scour local advertisements for bands in search of a vocalist. These ads could be found on platforms such as Craigslist or on flyers in local music stores. Another effective strategy is to join music-related groups on Facebook. For instance, I'm part of a Facebook group named 'MN Punk and Metal Scene'.

You too can take a proactive approach by creating and posting your own advertisements on social media platforms. Do you have friends who are musicians or friends who enjoy the same genre of music you're interested in creating? Starting with familiar faces can be a great way to build your performance skills.

Éverton’s Answer

Hello Caleb! As a seasoned music instructor from Brazil, I can tell you that you have two potential routes. First and foremost, it's essential that you hone your singing abilities to a high level. It would be beneficial if you could play an instrument such as the piano or guitar, as this would enable you to perform solo if needed. Once you've accomplished this, I have two pieces of advice for you. Firstly, seek out fellow music enthusiasts at your school who might be interested in forming a band, but remember, commitment to this project is crucial. Secondly, explore your city for opportunities like music schools, conservatories, festivals, fairs, and any other venues. Always keep your objectives in mind. If I were in your shoes, I'd start off solo, singing with my guitar and perhaps a backing track, or just my guitar, in small venues that are open to giving me a chance. Best of luck!

Alondra’s Answer

Hey there, Caleb! I believe there are some key steps you could take to kickstart your journey as a band singer. Even though I'm not one myself, I'd recommend that you start mingling with local bands. They're usually more than happy to share their stories and lend a hand in your growth as a singer. Getting tips from someone who's already in a band could really steer you in the right direction. You could start off small, maybe by showing these bands what you've got and expressing your interest in joining them.
