Work life balance looks different for everyone. There is no single answer that will satisfy every scenario. What's important, is that you find what works best for you. And that may take time. And it will definitely change overtime as you also evolve into different phases of your life. At times, you will favor your career and other times your family will take precedent. And this switch may happen in the same week. Always make sure you are paying attention to what you want and brings you joy. Find a company that also represents the values you are looking for. And remain flexible with the knowledge that nothing is forever.

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance as you start your career is crucial for overall well-being and long-term success.
To achieve this balance, it's essential to set boundaries between work and personal life, prioritize self-care activities such as exercise, adequate sleep, and healthy eating habits, and schedule time for relaxation and hobbies.
Effective time management, clear communication with colleagues and supervisors about workload and expectations, and learning to say no when necessary are key strategies. Additionally, incorporating mindfulness practices, seeking mentorship or coaching for guidance, and regularly reassessing priorities can help in maintaining a sustainable work-life balance throughout your career journey.

Absolutely! It's crucial to establish boundaries, yet maintain a degree of flexibility. The workplace is a dynamic environment of give and take. There might be days when you need to stay a little late, but you can offset this by starting a bit later the following day. It's equally important to set boundaries. For instance, if you have a weekly commitment, it's essential to inform key people like your manager or block that time in your calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts. Nowadays, most workplaces are conscious about maintaining a healthy work-life balance and preventing employee burnout.

Nancie’s Answer
It was challenging. You're constantly working or preoccupied with work-related thoughts. You frequently have irregular working hours, making it tough to get enough sleep. As a new nurse, you typically work night shifts, leaving your life revolving around work and sleep. Maintaining a social life becomes difficult. The most convenient option was to spend time with fellow nurses who shared the same shift schedule.
Thank you, this is really helpful.
