Hey Jalaa,
Great question, as someone who is not a nail tech but who's family has been in the business and I've been a bit surrounded by it as well, I hope this information might help.
FUMES. Lot's of fumes. Face Mask/venting obviously can help with this.
Know the differences between what people want. You have things like acryllic, gel, etc just very general terms but you'll have to know what they are and what someone is asking for and what they might not be asking for but really asking for (if you catch my drift).
Prices extremely varying nowadays. So obviously this just comes with the territory/life but with as many people as their are becoming nail techs or having established book of businesses, there will be those that charge industry standard and also dealing with those that charge very little to beat the crowd.

Hi Jalaa,
I think it's awesome that you know exactly what you want to pursue. Similar to Andrew, I'm not working in the space but know people who have a had mass success by creating exclusive clientele. I would encourage the follow tips to help build a successful foundation:
- Acquire a mentor: Find someone who's already in the space and ask to shadow them, get their advice and learn more about the industry
- Start practicing: there's tons on online tutorials and at home kits that are great for practicing
- Look for apprenticeship opportunities when applicable: If you can volunteer or intern with local salon that's always great exposure and will help you learn the business namely customer service and the behind the scenes
- Find a niche: As you learn the business be thinking about ways your service can be different from other technicians in your market. For example, I know someone who specializes in really unique design work and another tech who's really popular because she's a traveling tech. The traveling technician can charge more, mostly services celebrities and influencers who want an exclusive experience
- Social media marketing: Explore creating a social media strategy to document your journey and share your work. Think about going beyond just posting pictures but sharing what your learning, advice for others and new techniques.
I hope you find this helpful! Wishing you the best and much success now and in the future!
