You are interested in a job that has plenty of future potential! The length of time for a "full set of nails" varies due to many causes. The condition of the recipient's nails being the first. Although I am not a nail technician professional, I do know a few and some of the issues they have overcome. You will usually need a nail technician certificate of training to work at a professional nail shop or to rent a booth in one. Nail technicians can usually set their own hours, many times can branch out into their own business (it really doesn't cost too much to set up a station in a tiny home/garage of your house) and has a good possibility of income for a good technician. Now the drawbacks-some people are either allergic or sensitive to the chemicals used. Allergies can develop over time and exposure, so this is something to consider carefully. Some of the materials and tools used (UV dryer) have been listed as cancer causing so you should take all precautions to maintain your health. Wear protective devices as recommended. That being said, just be aware that your dream IS achievable with hard work and determination. Good luck!

To become a certified nail technician, you have two main paths to choose from.
Firstly, you can enroll in a vocational school that offers a nail technician or master of cosmetology program. Here, you'll learn through textbooks and hands-on experience with clients who visit the school for student services. This program typically takes less than a year to complete. After completion, you're eligible to take the state board exam.
Secondly, you can opt for an apprenticeship under a licensed nail technician. This involves a certain number of training hours, determined by the state, during which you'll learn and practice the trade. Once you've completed these hours, you can take the state board exam to earn your license, if you pass.
Different services like pedicures, manicures, and full sets require varying amounts of time to complete, and this also depends on the individual technician's speed. I hope this information is helpful!
