What do I have to major in to get a job working in a pharmacy?

I am a senior in high school and I plan on attending college in the fall. I know when I graduate I want to work in a pharmacy; But I don't want to major in something that is not on the pathway to being a pharmacist. #nursing #scientist #pharmacists

Either biology or chemistry are probably your best bets. You might want to Google pharmacy programs (you'll have to do a master's degree) and see what their requirements are to get a better idea of what you need to have done. :)

This would be a good question for your high school guidance counselor. There are a number of universities that offer "pre pharmacy" degrees or majors. Then you would go into a graduate program. I think most of the programs now require a doctorate degree.

Hi,
You have a good answer above from Alice,
I will offer another perspective, you can apply for an entry level job at a Pharmacy as a Clerk/Cashier to see if you like the work environment...then take courses in Pharmacy Tech, a more entry level certificate or 2 year associates degree into the field of pharmacy.
Then if you really like it, go on to your Bachelors and Masters degree program...being a Pharmacist requires an advanced degree and licensing.
Good luck!
