Layne’s Answer

It is great you are asking this question. You may be asking because you have computer skills that you want to apply. Or you may be asking because you want to improve computer skills. Or you may be asking because you would like to find a career where you do not have to use computer skills. In general, computer skills are used in many jobs, including outdoor jobs (like parks management) to hands on jobs (like construction) to retail and restaurant jobs. Having a familiarity with computers is helpful. However, computers are a tool that you can learn. The most important thing is that you learn how the computer is used for whatever job you do. There are many jobs out there where you do not need to use a computer. The most important thing is that if you need to use the computer, you focus on using it as a tool to help you.

With the way the world is trending, your ability to use and get the most from a computer will be paramount to your success.

Even jobs that you wouldn't think need computer skills (fast food, landscaping, etc) will call for you to submit reports, send emails, etc. You don't need to be able to code, but the "basic" skills that once helped people standout are now necessary just to be considered.
