Hello! Data management is a pretty large topic and contains many subsections and strategies for managing different types of data. It can get a bit overwhelming just diving in without much direction. Here can be some brief information to get you started on a search and understanding of data management.
General Knowledge:
* Data is stored typically in two ways: spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) and databases (relational and nonrelational databases)
* Data management can change in methods or strategies depending on the type of data (such as financial data will be stored and managed differently than, say, data to train an AI) and the method of interacting with the data (such as query languages vs spreadsheets stored in files).
* Data management in the field can have many different names/roles that involve different ways to manage data (ex: Data Manager, Information Management Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Architect, etc.). You can find more about the different types of jobs here and see if there is one that you would like to learn more about: https://www.zuar.com/blog/data-management-jobs/other-jobs-in-the-data-management-field
I would first see what jobs exist out there for data management and see which ones are most interesting to you.
Next, look at the skills/education requirements for those jobs and start finding resources to learn them (lots can be free for practicing)
Finally, I would recommend finding people on LinkedIn or Indeed with those job titles and find a way to contact them (can be through those websites or by other means) so that you can ask them questions about their career and any advice they'd like to give

There are a lot of free courses / youtube videos available to get an overview of various types / categories of data management. I would recommend starting there first as the field of data management is pretty vast and skills vary significantly depending on the type of data management you want to specialize in. After you identify the area you are interested in - then again there are a lot of free resources to learn that field or specialized programs that would allow you to get a degree.

Hello,
I would start with some remote work where you can design your own database. There are college courses at community colleges where you can enroll in an entry database course for beginners.
