Leslie’s Answer

The salary range for veterinarians is very wide. There are many diverse opportunities for veterinarians. Small animal (cats and dogs) veterinarians can make between $50,000-$100,000 per year, depending on location and type of clinic (emergency tends to pay more). Zoo veterinarians typically make lower, around $50K-60K per year. If you progress up and teach at a university or do more leadership roles, you an make more than $100,000 per year and lab animal veterinarians usually make anywhere from $100,000-$150,000 per year. Public health veterinarians and those in the government or public sector industry usually make less... around $45,000-60,000.

I agree with Leslie. Veterinarians can make a wide range of salary, depending on what type of work they do. I would also recommend going to www.vinfoundation.org for more information about the cost of education to become a veterinarian. Salary is important, but so is the educational debt you take on the way to your degree, as well as debt:income ratio.
