Hi Adyn, it really depends on what career path you chose and what college/university offers that degree as well as if you are looking at a public or private college/university. U of M and MSU are the top two but there are smaller colleges/universities like Ferris State, Grand Valley, Central Michigan and Western Michigan along with many others. Take a look at the degrees offered as well as financial aid, student organizations, social climate and take time to go visit the campuses, take a tour and ask questions. Best of luck to you!

Hi, Adyn, you have gotten excellent advice from Diane, another Michigander! I have listed links below the US News and niche rankings that may help your search. Also, the College Board has a free online tool for identifying schools that meet your criteria, which could include geography. Your high school may have a platform for identifying colleges, too; your guidance counselor could tell you. My children used Naviance.
I suggest creating a spreadsheet to identify your top schools and compare the information Diane mentioned, such as majors, campus life, cost, and special programs. Also add in application deadlines and other key dates, such when you attend information sessions and tours. I reiterate the importance of visiting not only to demonstrate your interest, but also to see how comfortable you feel on campus.
Good luck!
