Abigail,
Get the best grades you can in high school so that your GPA is 3.5 - 4.0 to have the highest chances of getting into college. Take any college or career classes offered at your high school so you have a head start on general education requirements. Volunteer in the field you are interested in such as at a nursing home if you are interested in healthcare, a daycare if you are interested in teaching, or a vet if you are interested in veterinary school (or anywhere that correlates with your interests). These things all make you look like a serious applicant when you apply to colleges. Make a resume for college, just like you would for a job, and include relevant experience, your grades, relevant classes, and any volunteer work. Send this in with your college applications. This will make you stand out.
Make good grades! Try to have a GPA of somewhere between 3.5-4.0.

Volunteer in your area of interest.
Create a resume for college.

A college degree typically involves completing a program of study at a college or university, which usually takes about 2-4 years for an undergraduate degree. You’ll need to complete required courses and earn a certain number of credits.
To get into the college you want, start by researching colleges and their admission requirements. Prepare by maintaining good grades, participating in extracurricular activities, and taking standardized tests like the SAT or ACT. Complete the college application process, which often includes submitting transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters, and personal essays. Apply for financial aid if needed, and be mindful of application deadlines.

Hello Abigail,
A college degree is like a special stamp from a university that says you've gained a certain amount of knowledge in a specific area. There are usually three main types of degrees you can aim for: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate (PhD). The university gives you this stamp when you've successfully completed courses in your chosen field.
A Bachelor's degree shows you've learned the basic knowledge needed to work and do research in your chosen area. It's often the first step you need to take to get a job that requires this knowledge.
A Master's degree shows you've become really good at a specific part of your chosen field. This is what people usually study after they get their Bachelor's degree.
A PhD degree shows you've done your own research in your field and have added something new to what people know about that field. The university gives you this stamp to show that your new knowledge is worth recognising with a PhD.
To boost your chances of getting into a top university, you can:
- Take the hardest academic courses you can handle;
- Get really good grades;
- Do really well on the SAT/ACT;
- Join in with school sports;
- Do volunteer work in your community;
- Be a leader in school clubs and community groups;
- Have hobbies and interests that show you can set and reach goals (like art, music, dance, sports); and
- Join in with activities that show you see yourself as part of the whole world.
I hope this is useful. Wishing you all the best.

Hey there, Abigail!
Earning a college degree usually means finishing a certain amount of classes and credits across a span of four years. If you've got your heart set on a particular college, it's a good idea to look into what they need for you to get in. This might include things like your GPA, your scores on tests like the SAT or ACT, and the things you do outside of school.
Try to keep your grades up, join clubs or activities that interest you, and put some serious time into getting ready for those big tests. When it's time to write your application essays, make sure they really show off what makes you special and how you fit in with what the college stands for.
Don't forget to ask for recommendation letters from teachers or other people who know you well and can vouch for you. And remember, the early bird gets the worm - apply as soon as you can and double-check to make sure all your paperwork is in on time.
