What is some advice for a law student to be?

I have to interview a lawyer for a project because I want to be a lawyer when I grow up. Here are my questions:

1. Do you think it is better to work for a another lawyer or own a law firm/practice area?

2. ( If you specialize in personal injury) Do you go to courts a lot, or just stay in an office?

3. What is your daily schedule like? describe it.

Thank you!!! #law #lawyer #attorney #civil-law #personal-injury

My advice would be to get very good grades in college and try to get into the best law school possible that has legal clinics or classes in areas of interest to you. While in law school try to get the best grades you can because many employers will ask for your transcript and will only hire you if you had very good grades.

Also- do not get to wrapped up into what kind of law you want to practice this very minute. You don't have to decide today- just research and think about it. When you get to law school and take classes your interest may change. Many people go to law school and after being exposed to different classes change their minds.

There are many different areas of law: You can work for a large law firm, a small firm, a non-profit, a company, as a district attorney or criminal defense. You should research this.

Hi!

Here is a site that will provide some very important information:

Talk to your favorite teachers to see how they see you fitting into this field. See if they know of any lawyers that you can meet to learn more.

Send thank you notes to people who help you. Please keep me posted. i would like to know how you are doing.
