Any American universities or programs that do not require taking the SAT?

I am a Canadian high school student interested in applying for school in America. My biggest concern right now is the SAT.

Preston’s Answer

When I was applying for schools in Utah they focused more on the ACT which is a difficult test as well. What I did to prepare for it is go through a quick ACT prep class. Even after the prep class I decided to take the ACT several times which helped me improve my score each time. I found one of the areas the helped me improve the most was practicing reading quickly to answer the longer story problems.

Kim’s Answer

It's been eons since I tested. Is it still the case that the SAT punishes you for guessing, but the ACT does not? Then take the ACT. There are strategies to help with questions you positively do not know the answer to, but they are not a substitute for learning and studying. I really would not let fear of a test keep me from doing what I want to do. There will always be things you fear - you must learn to overcome the fears if you hope to go far in life.
