Hello, Nasteha !

This is a great question ! You sound very prepared to embark on a study path for Nursing ! That is an exciting and altruistic choice and it is great that you are thinking about applying for scholarships to attend either San Diego State University or the University of California at San Diego ! It sounds like a perfect plan !

I love your approach for this career, to contribute greatly in the medical field and it is a field of work that is always needed and can be done anywhere. When applying for scholarships, please keep in mind that San Diego State University does indeed have a Nursing program while the University of California at San Diego does not have a Nursing Program. So for now, it looks like you'd want to either focus on San Diego State University and or choose some other colleges that offer Nursing.

Let's start with the specific college based scholarships. Would you believe, San Diego State University has more than 700 scholarships that they offer their students ? Wow ! This is wonderful news for you. You can not only apply for their scholarships but also many others given by various outside grantors. I've left the link below for you to learn more about SDSU's scholarships and how to apply for them. There is also the California Nursing Students’ Association Scholarship (link is below). Do a search for the Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship Program FY 2023-24 - California Grants Portal for the school year of your entry if you plan to obtain your Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Also do a search online for the Deloras Jones Nursing Scholarship which is for nursing students in Southern California. I've also left a link below for an array of scholarships that are for students attending college in your state. Did you know that Johnson and Johnson corporation offers nursing scholarships ? I have left the link for more information about it below. You can do many searches online for different categories of scholarships and grants as there are many, many more.

When applying to many scholarships to increase your chances of obtaining some, stay within the essay guidelines stated in the instructions. Many scholarships will ask you to write an essay to include with your application, but some scholarships do not require an essay. Some of these no-essay scholarships which you can find through an online search are Around the Corner from College Scholarship, Smarter College $1,000 Scholarship, College Monk No-Essay Scholarship, Nitro $2,000 Scholarship, Scholarship360 No-Essay Scholarship, Top 40 No Essay Scholarships. Apply to both the large scholarships and the small scholarships. I have left a link below to Scholarship 360 that has a list of no-essay scholarships that you can check back for your college enrollment year.

I hope that this is helpful to start you off and I wish you all the best !
