Hi Hannah,
Freshman year is definitely doable and reasonable. I obtained a job during my freshman year through a work study program and continued to work throughout college at various part-time jobs and internships. The reasons why I did that was to offset my tuition and living expenses and to build my resume. Definitely check out your school's career center for resources and the career website for job opportunities when you start your freshman year!

Hi Hannah,
I’d say there is no such thing as “too early” for starting a job leading to your future career, so yes, freshman year sounds reasonable enough to take the first steps in that direction. Just keep in mind that, while you are in college, your priority is the study, not the work just yet. When looking for job opportunities, make sure they will allow you enough time left for the academics and pick only those (part-time, internships, seasonal, flexible hours, etc.) that are in agreement with your primary goal of acquiring the knowledge and a degree.
Hope that helps and good luck!
