Hey there, Jazzy!

Here's a simplified guide on how to apply for a job at Amazon:

1. **Find Job Openings:** Visit the official Amazon Jobs website to explore all the job openings across different departments and locations. Use filters like job type, location, and experience level to narrow down your search.

2. **Set Up an Account:** To apply, you'll need an account on the Amazon Jobs portal. This account lets you apply for jobs, track your application, and get updates about new jobs that match your interests.

3. **Ready Your Resume and Cover Letter:** Customize your resume to show off your skills and experience that match the job you're applying for. A good cover letter can show your interest in the job and the company.

4. **Send in Your Application:** When you've found the right job and your documents are ready, apply through the portal. Make sure all your information is correct and complete.

5. **Take Assessment Tests:** For some jobs, you might need to take online tests. These could test your problem-solving skills, technical skills, or other skills needed for the job.

6. **Go Through the Interview Process:** If your application is accepted, you'll be invited for an interview. Amazon's interview process usually has several rounds, including phone interviews and in-person or virtual interviews with the hiring team.

7. **Get a Job Offer:** If your interviews go well, you could get a job offer from Amazon. Make sure to review the offer carefully before you accept it.

8. **Start the Onboarding Process:** Once you've accepted the offer, you'll start the onboarding process. This is when you'll learn about Amazon's culture, rules, and procedures.

Amazon offers a variety of jobs:

- **Fulfillment Center Roles:** Jobs like warehouse associates who pick, pack, and ship products.
- **Corporate Positions:** Jobs in marketing, finance, human resources, operations management, IT support, legal services, and more.
- **Software Development:** Amazon employs software engineers to develop new tech for platforms like AWS and Alexa.

Hello there,

Applying with Amazon is as easy as entering the Google search "Apply to Amazon."

A job opportunity portal will be one of the first things you see and you can browse through tons of openings, granted a lot of them have to do with the fulfillment centers and distribution centers.

I worked in one of the distribution centers for a couple of years before getting where I am today.

Hello!

Amazon is a huge company, my first advice would be to understand which are the segments available and what are you interested on. A few of them are Amazon Logistics, Marketplace, Retail, AWS, Prime, etc.
I worked for the company for about 3 years in the Brazil office, and did join initially as an intern, then switched to a program management team within the Marketplace, and ended up as an Account Manager specialized in the logistic programs.
A very useful tip is to connect with someone that works in the company, as being a internal referal is great. Someone from inside the company can also give you a little more details on the company culture and what they call leadership principals, as most of the interview process is based on that.
Also, you will need a lot of patience during the interview process, specially for corporate positions as they do have quite a few steps.

Hopefully you will find a position that is a good match, good luck!

Hello Jazzy,

Amazon is an incredible place to work, with a wide array of opportunities just waiting for you! I'd suggest taking a look at their careers page. It's a great tool that lets you filter through the options and pinpoint exactly what you're interested in. Once you've found something that catches your eye, you can apply right there!

But don't stop there, Jazzy. Check out LinkedIn too! Often, you'll find the same job postings there, and the best part? You can directly message the recruiter to get more details about the role. It's a fantastic way to get a leg up and really understand what the job entails.

Amazon has a diverse range of roles, from customer service to human resources, delivery, and management. There's something for everyone. Best of luck on your job hunt!

Warm regards,
Sasha

Tanner’s Answer

Applying at Amazon will be similar to applying at any other company- finding a job and submitting your resume/application! Amazon is a larger company, so you'll be up against hundreds (if not thousands of candidates). You'll want to tailor your resume and application details to the role. Use the job description to cater your skills/expertise/knowledge/experience to that of the job you're applying for.

Large companies typically use software to filter resumes/applications based on keywords. Its a good idea to use some of the words you'll find the in the job description within the details of your experience. The hardest part of getting a job can often be getting that initial interview, especially at larger organizations like Amazon.

Amazon has so much to offer because of it's size: Amazon.com, AWS, Whole Foods. You'll find corporate jobs, IT jobs, warehouse jobs, retail jobs, etc.

Betsy’s Answer

Jazzy,

Fazal's answer is very good.

I have a couple more pieces of info for you. The Amazon site has a link at the bottom of the page called "Careers." Most companies with a website have this same link with the same label. Click it and you should be able to get a list of open jobs at Amazon. Even if you don't see one you'd like, put in your application, resume, and cover letter. Be enthusiastic about the reason you want to join Amazon, they will ask in an Interview. Do as much research on Amazon as you can. Pick a job and then build the skills it requires.

One way to connect with Amazon employees is on LinkedIn. You can do a search of Amazon employees. Find one that has a job you are interested in or find a person marked as HR. You can reach out to any of the employees from LinkedIn, send a message, and ask them questions about working at Amazon and how they got their job. Unless they are super busy or don't come to LinkedIn very often, most people will respond.

Know that it is difficult to get hired by Amazon because so many people apply. But don't give up. Keep applying! And good luck.
Thank you comment icon I will use this advice as I prepare for my career. Jazzy
