Hello Michael,
You can be a Sports Medicine Therapist by acquiring a Medical Degree first. Once you are a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery (MBBS) then you can do your MD in Medicine/ Sports Medicine as a specialist. Sports Medicine therapists are very rare breed in the field of medicine and very few opt for it. I have a friend who has done Sports Medicine and he is hired/ employed by best of Sports organisations in the country and keeps on travelling the globe with the teams for National/international sports events. Very rewarding and satisfying career indeed!
In case, you do not wish to do such a high level of studies in medicine then you can enroll for diploma courses for a year or two from medical colleges/sports medicine authorities in your country.

Hey Michael!
Every country is a little different. Generally for a sports medicine therapist, you need your doctorates in Physical therapy which is grad school that is typically 3 years. Need to have a bachelors/masters in sports medicine.
For schools, just make sure they have sports medicine as a major and visit the campus before you decide on which school you want to attend.
Hope this helps!
