David’s Answer

There are many tools that I use on a daily basis to, however, they change a lot. The tools might be for collaborating with other team members, updating databases or updating status for management etc.
For me the key thing I would suggest for someone starting a career is to be flexible. Work toward being a good communicator, collaborator and know how to get the most out of the tools that exist, including AI. Flexibility is key, the technology that is making a significant difference today is Agile. Designed for software development its ideology is being used in all areas of business and the principal reason is that it adapts to the environment and the needs of the customer. AI is changing the landscape of the job market, knowing how to take advantage of it is important. But more important is to adapt to the speed of change that AI will usher in.

Andersen’s Answer

In my years working for software companies, the types of tech/ software you use range drastically. Generally speaking, email (Google, MSFT 365) is the standard. Comm tools like Slack, Teams, and Gchat are typical. After that, the type of role you focus on will determine the other services you will experience. Tools like CRMs, spreadsheets, and analytical tools like Tableau are often used in business-related roles. Jira/ confluence are often found in Engineering/ Software development. So, to answer your question, it depends on the type of roles you will have at the company.

Neeraj Kumar’s Answer

Throughout my workday, I predominantly utilize the following technologies and tools:

JavaScript & TypeScript: These languages are my go-to for front-end development. I especially love using Angular for crafting dynamic and responsive user interfaces that truly engage the user.

Angular.js: With Angular.js, I can create scalable and maintainable web applications that offer a smooth and seamless user experience. It's a game-changer!

Node.js: When it comes to back-end development, Node.js is my trusted ally. It allows me to build efficient server-side applications and RESTful APIs that power our services.

GCP (Google Cloud Platform): GCP is my preferred platform for managing and deploying web applications. It ensures our applications are not only scalable but also secure - a key aspect in today's digital world.

Git: Git is my tool of choice for version control. It fosters effective collaboration with my team and helps us maintain a robust and streamlined development workflow. It's all about teamwork and efficiency!

Barak’s Answer

Hi, Aidan. In a tech company like Cisco, you'll likely use a variety of tools depending on your role and department, but here’s an overview of technologies and apps commonly used in tech environments and how they’re utilized:

Webex (Cisco): Cisco’s own collaboration tool is widely used for video conferencing, webinars, and team meetings.
Cisco DNA Center: If you're in networking, this tool is Cisco’s platform for network management and automation.
Wireshark: A network protocol analyzer used for troubleshooting and analyzing data packets in a network.
Cisco Packet Tracer: A network simulation tool that helps model networks, troubleshoot issues, and explore different networking protocols.
Cisco CloudCenter: Cisco’s own cloud management platform, used for hybrid cloud environments and automation.
Cisco Security Products: Cisco has its own suite of security solutions like Cisco Umbrella (for network security), Cisco AnyConnect (for VPN access), and Cisco SecureX (for security analytics).
Cisco DevNet: Cisco’s platform for learning and developing automation skills in network operations using APIs, scripts, and tools.
Cisco UCS: Cisco’s own computing systems used for server management and virtualization.
Cisco DevNet Sandbox: Offers virtual labs to test, develop, and simulate network environments.
At Cisco, you'll likely encounter a blend of these tools, particularly those focused on networking, security, and collaboration. Expect to engage with both technical (programming, networking) and non-technical (communication, project management) platforms, depending on your role. Good Luck .

Eric’s Answer

Even though I utilize some specialized applications, the ones I use most frequently are those that nearly every company has a version of. Mastering the use of spreadsheets, presentation software, word processing, as well as file management, collaboration, and communication tools, is absolutely essential. It's a common scenario where most individuals only tap into a small portion of these applications' potential. By acquainting yourself with the newly introduced features and capabilities, you can significantly boost your effectiveness and efficiency. This is particularly relevant now, with the advent of Gen AI being incorporated into these tools. So, seize the opportunity to learn how to utilize the tools your company offers!
