Thank you comment icon You may want to ask a representative of the particular school you will go to as they would have the most accurate information that would apply to you. Michelle M.

Autumn’s Answer

Class work is about 10 months through a career center then you have to apply for an apprenticeship and complete it to get final certification. Good luck.

Chinyere’s Answer

Hello Austin,

The length of a welding program can vary depending on the type of certification you're pursuing and the school or program you're attending. Typically, here are the general time frames:

1. Certificate Programs:
- These are the quickest path to becoming a welder and can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. These programs focus on essential welding skills and safety.

2. Diploma or Technical Programs:
- These usually take about 1 to 2 years and provide more in-depth training, including hands-on experience with various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, etc.).

3. Associate Degree:
- An Associate Degree in welding technology or a related field usually takes about 2 years to complete. This offers a broader education that can help with more advanced roles in the welding field.

If you're waiting for an opening, you may want to ask the program directly about their schedule and expected timeline for completion, as some courses offer accelerated options or part-time schedules.

Best wishes!
