I agree! Throughout my career, I have worked on various committees and projects. I have watched the ones that succeeded, and, the ones that fizzled. The biggest common denominator I see in those that fizzle is "sameness." The people on them tend to be clones. When there are differences, and people are open-minded, great things happen!

I also have noticed this with co-workers in general. It is what makes for a great team. I was always the go-to person when someone had difficulty writing a particular difficult report, or researching a particular law or departmental procedure. I did not mind doing these things, because it was my way of contributing. Conversely, since I could not master Spanish, no matter how hard I tried, I relied on co-workers when I needed a translator.

I had never heard of this theory, and thank you for sharing it, and the very interesting infographic site. I shall now be exploring that site!

Kalin’s Answer

Hi there,

I operate in a multicultural worldwide company where diversity matters more than anywhere else. Any company that strives for success should be looking for a team with a diversified portfolio of strengths and areas of improvement. If you imagine each person having his own intelligence - it's like building a puzzle where each piece matches a specific pattern.

This however doesn't always come as easy as it looks like since diversity can also come at the stake of more conflicts and this is the place where you can understand if a manager is good or not =).

Your personal strengths are what makes you valuable and also doing what you like brings happiness in your life. I believe it's really important to keep on building on your strengths and yet consider how to improve your weaknesses.

Generally intelligence is connected to type of personality describe by Myers-Briggs (Please refer to below page).
