The good news is that you don't HAVE to be a computer science major in order to get into IT consulting (I wasn't one), but it helps to build a strong foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle. Most important is building strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills while being able to relay that to interviewers with specific examples.
