It really depends on what you do. If you learn Linux, Cloud Technology and a some programming languages and tools you can push your numbers up pretty far. If you are just maintaining the security of an on premise network and keeping software patched you will likely be on the lower end of the pay scale. You can see this in the difference between a Cloud Security Engineer, Platform Security Engineer or maybe IT Security Specialist. These roles could have very different salary structures.

Whatever CyberSecurity gets paid now is likely to significantly increase as the years go by. This is not only becoming an increasingly popular industry, its also becoming a significantly in demand industry as cyber security becomes an increasingly important part of our nations security and a focus in other industries as well. I work in accounting and we are already seeing the SEC and other boards require an understanding of the cybersecurity at companies. As this requirement expands, so will the need for good cyber security majors. I think this is a high paying career path in the next ten years.

Cybersecurity is a very in demand position in today's job market. When considering Cybersecurity pay, it is helpful to consider the location where the job will be performed. Despite remote and flexible work options, employers often consider cost of living as a part of your compensation package. The websites above are all good starting points; however, beyond salary and pay, I would recommend considering the skillsets that would make you standout in Cybersecurity or any field. A lot of salary information are averages, but being in the top 10% of your field will often compensate you at a much higher rate compared to the average.
