I am very interested in the weather, and that interest started in high school. I did an independent project forecasting the weather for my school, which was a lot of fun. I was thinking maybe it would be a fun career to pursue, too. When exploring it further, however, I found it required a good knowledge of the sciences, especially physics and chemistry, and I was not strong in those subjects. In fact, they were my worst subjects. So, I would suggest you see how well you do in those two subjects in high school. If you love or even just like them, then I think you're well on your way to exploring meteorology as a career.

Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry and Pre-Calculus and Calculus. These are the classes I recommend you focus on in high school. Meteorology is heavily rooted in Math and Science.
