How to get out of the "just getting started process"?

Ok so I am a Digital Media Production student, and i have an advanced script writing class and I am having trouble coming up with an idea that seems solid enough to devote time to. Should i take a leap and go with something that might be shaky or skip it and do something super simple so that i can get the basic understanding of what i am doing? And do you have any advice for the development of an idea so that it can become something more stable? #scriptwriting #DigitalMediaProduction

Kaylynne’s Answer

I am a published author, and I find the best solution for finding a topic is real world experience. Write from what you know, and continue to push yourself each day to do things that inspire you. Most importantly, write even if you don't have a fully formed idea. Simply being in the process of putting pen to paper is half the battle. If you write out of order, that can be edited and smoothed out later, but be sure that you are writing everyday. Creative thinkers are often overwhelmed by too many thoughts, and can find it difficult to put them into words. Use that energy and try to express yourself in your writing. The audience will conbect better with you, and you will feel more inspired because you wrote from your real life experience and emotions.

Kaylynne recommends the following next steps:

Do something new and write about the experience.
Try to use that experience to help you start your story.
