Eric’s Answer
Augusto, there continues to be strong demand for engineers and that will likely continue for the foreseeable future. The training within engineering programs is specifically designed to prepare you to be able to work within the industry upon graduation. Since the branches of engineering are still very broad, I always suggest that engineering students decide by their sophomore year what area of engineering they want to specialize in within their chosen field of study, if possible. This way they can take as many upper-level engineering courses within that specialization. If you are not sure what to specialize in, then I suggest that a masters degree be considered. A masters degree may be appropriate in either case. Some programs allow you to pursue a masters degree simultaneously with your bachelors degree. In the end, the more specialized that you are, the more demand there will be for you when you are ready to enter the workforce. All the best!
Thank you so much, Eric!

The trend recently in the midwest United States is not to attend college because of its high cost. There are not enough degreed or licensed engineers to fill the demand for them. Engineer salaries are higher and choices of jobs are plentiful no matter what type of engineering specialty you select. If you have a mathematical mind, and you are a highly driven individual, then engineering school is a great choice for you.
Thank you so much, Kris!

Augusto,
I would agree with all the comments above: Engineering degrees continue to be in demand and there are multiple disciplines you can go into for engineering degrees. Computer science and engineering are very close and this is a highly flexible degree which can enable employment in many different businesses and you can do a lot of work remotely.
Many of the engineering degrees are very much in demand. You should try to differentiate yourself from other candidates with a good GPA as well as multiple internships.
An engineering degree is costly, so I would recommend you go to community college and take AP courses to help defray some of the costs.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks.

Tyler’s Answer
Engineering degrees can be quite competitive, but that can also depend on the university and the specific program. Many top engineering schools have rigorous admissions criteria, often requiring strong math and science backgrounds. Once you’re in, the workload can be challenging, with demanding coursework in subjects like calculus, physics, and circuit theory. However, the field is also rewarding because it equips you with problem-solving skills and technical knowledge that are in high demand.
Thanks for the help.

Engineering is a very rewarding and necessary career. Many people are engineers and it is a sought after career choice. You can go many routes with it such as Civil engineer, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Agricultural, Technical etc. It's your choice really just find what interests you most and do your research. The environment after you get one can possibly be working at a company building different technologies for the world. It could also be a researcher, professor and teacher. These are just a couple of suggestion, best of luck on your journey.
Thanks for your encouragement!
