Hi Eva!
One website that I found SUPER helpful when applying for college was the CommonApp website (https://www.commonapp.org/). You will not find every college on this website, but many colleges are on there! This platform allows you to use the same essay and application to apply for many different colleges at once! I found that this website allowed me to save myself a ton of time and energy while I was applying for college. It allowed me to apply to multiple different colleges so that I had many options without having to spend a ton of time on applications. It also gives you a checklist of everything you need to submit for each college so that you do not forget anything. This website will guide you step by step through the whole process.
One thing to keep in mind while applying for college is that many colleges do have application fees. Sometimes you can apply or ask for a fee waiver, which I would encourage you to do if you come from a low-income background. If not, it is a good idea to research colleges before you apply so that you only apply for colleges you are truly interested in. That way, you can save money on application fees for schools you are not as interested in.
If you are able to, I would encourage you to tour some colleges that you are interested in. You can usually schedule college tours online in advance. Attending a tour not only gives you an opportunity to see the college campus, but it also allows you to ask questions about the programs and opportunities the college has for you. You can talk to current students as well as faculty to give you a better understanding of whether or not the school is a good fit for you. If you are unable to tour colleges in person, consider looking for virtual tours online. Do not hesitate to reach out to the admissions office if you have any questions about the school.

As the world evolves, so does the level of competition in every field. If you're aiming to stand out and grab the attention of those evaluating candidates for a university spot, consider incorporating these tips into your application. Remember, it's essential to compile a comprehensive document that reflects all this information about you.
1.- Highlight your strengths as a student, and discuss how your unique attributes could enrich the university community.
2.- Showcase your academic accomplishments and the dedication that led to them.
3.- Display an in-depth understanding of the profession or career you're passionate about pursuing.
4.- Develop an educational goal that encapsulates why you're drawn to a particular field of study. Consider the potential global impact you could make if given the opportunity to graduate from that specific program.
5.- If a face-to-face interview is part of the application process, prepare by anticipating possible questions from the admission officer. Craft your responses based on the information you've previously outlined.
Believe in yourself, articulate clearly why you're drawn to that specific university, and give it your all. You have what it takes to succeed.

Hello Eva!
How to Create a College Application
Creating a college application is a multi-step process that requires careful planning and attention to detail. Below are the steps you should follow to ensure your application is complete and competitive.
1. Research Colleges and Programs
Before you start filling out applications, it’s crucial to research various colleges and their programs. Consider factors such as:
Location: Urban vs. rural settings, proximity to home.
Programs Offered: Ensure the college offers your intended major or field of study.
Campus Culture: Look into student life, extracurricular activities, and diversity.
Admission Requirements: Different colleges have varying requirements for admission.
2. Prepare Your Academic Records
Most colleges will require your high school transcripts as part of the application process. Here’s what you need to do:
Request Transcripts: Contact your high school to obtain official transcripts.
Check GPA Requirements: Understand the GPA expectations for each college you are applying to.
3. Standardized Test Scores
Many colleges require standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). Here’s how to manage this aspect:
Register for Tests: Sign up for SAT or ACT tests well in advance.
Prepare for Tests: Utilize study guides, prep courses, or tutoring if necessary.
Send Scores: Ensure that your scores are sent directly from the testing agency to the colleges.
4. Write Your Personal Statement or Essays
Most college applications require a personal statement or essays that reflect who you are as an individual. Follow these guidelines:
Understand the Prompt: Carefully read the essay prompts provided by each college.
Be Authentic: Write about experiences that genuinely represent you and your aspirations.
Edit and Revise: Seek feedback from teachers or mentors and revise multiple drafts.
5. Gather Letters of Recommendation
Colleges often ask for letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or community leaders. Here’s how to approach this step:
Choose Recommenders Wisely: Select individuals who know you well and can speak positively about your abilities and character.
Request Early: Ask for recommendations at least a month before they are due.
Provide Context: Share information about yourself with recommenders so they can write more personalized letters.
6. Complete the Application Forms
Most colleges use online application systems like the Common Application or Coalition Application. Here’s what to do:
Create an Account: Sign up on the chosen platform.
Fill Out Personal Information: Include details such as contact information, academic history, and extracurricular activities.
Review Each Section Thoroughly: Ensure all information is accurate before submission.
7. Pay Attention to Deadlines
Each college has its own set of deadlines for applications, financial aid forms, and scholarship opportunities. To stay organized:
Create a Calendar: Mark important dates related to each application.
Submit Early if Possible: Aim to submit applications ahead of deadlines to avoid last-minute issues.
8. Financial Aid Applications
If you need financial assistance, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any additional forms required by specific colleges:
Gather Financial Documents: Have tax returns and other financial documents ready when filling out FAFSA.
Research Scholarships: Look into scholarships offered by colleges as well as external organizations… (stopped)
God Bless!
