David’s Answer

First, you must carefully think things through regarding the specific area of occupation you want to pursue and ultimately do as your job. This must be reinforced with the relevant academic program. That’s where selecting your major comes into play.
Second, is the school itself. Arguably, going to the best college or university for architecture is more important than the courses themselves. Make no mistake though: the courses are the foundation. But try to get accepted at the best school for starters.

Henry’s Answer

Hey Jay!
Choosing to be an architect can be a fantastic career path, but it's important that it's the right fit for you. I noticed you mentioned architecture as a potential major you're considering. Are there any other subjects that have caught your eye? What is it about architecture that really grabs your attention? These are just a few questions you might want to ponder on to really understand your passion for architecture.

Great question, Jay! And it is perfectly OK to not know what you want to be in the future. Knowing that takes A LOT of trial and error!

If you know you are interested in architecture, you can look on LinkedIn to see what people who you admire in the field of architecture have studied. Ask questions, learn more, and speak to a college counselor (or ask another question here!).

Also, just to help you get started, Civil Engineering might be an interesting degree for you to further investigate.
