What steps should i take to land a job as an Art Director while in high school?
I am in the 10th grade and i am beginning to explore my future career as i hope to be an art director. what are some helpful step i should consider? At school i am most interested in art, Computer science, and entrepreneurship while my hobbies include drawing and taking photos and videos of the world around me, a topic i am passionate about is graphic design which was my former career choice originally. id like to know what helpful steps can i do in the near future to prepare for this career and also i am debating about going to collage and id also like to know if the it would how beneficial it would be for my career?

I think your best avenue to is to get involved with your student government. You'll have to make all kinds of visuals to promote activities on campus and an artistic mind is badly needed for that sort of thing. It will give you the experience of developing ideas and working with others to try and make things come to life. The end product will be important, but perhaps more so the process of pulling it all together by working with people to accomplish a shared goal. A director by definition depends on the help of others to get things done but getting other people to help you realize your artistic vision is extremely difficult. You'll find out by taking on group projects whether you're cut out for it or not. Also, you'll find out that art directors have to deal with a lot more than just art. Some people love that type of role. Others...not so much.

To be a real director in anything...you MUST graduate from a 4-year university.
At your age and in this stage of your life, you can not prepare for anything like that.
You are just way too young to even get your foot in the door.
You next step is to go to a 4 year university, stay away from community college.
They will not teach you the skills you need and in the end it's just a waste of money.
After you get into college talk to a counselor or professor and they'll direct you to a field or major that will start you on the path.
Directing is also considered a "creative field", so I'd say focus on film studies and digital art as a major.
At your age and in this stage of your life, you can not prepare for anything like that.
