Jennifer’s Answer

This is a pretty serious commitment! Balancing full-time work with full-time school requires both smart time management and self-care. Prioritize tasks and break them into manageable chunks. Make use of your downtime, like commuting or breaks, to get some reading or studying done - Audiobooks are a lifesaver. Remember to set boundaries and OVER communicate your schedule to both your employer and school. And most importantly, ensure you get enough rest and downtime to recharge. You're a champ for taking this on!

Honestly it is hard to work and go to school full time. Part time for both isn’t to bad that is more doable. But if you can try and do one over the other. In your case I think it is more than possible. Depending on how many classes your taking the more study time your going to need. Try and need leave it all for the weekend space it out during the week 1-4 hours a day is the most you probably need. I hope you found this helpful, good luck with everything.

Martina’s Answer

Hi Genevieve, the key is balance and prioritizing. You have to learn time management and be able to block time allotted for studying. Depending on your work and school schedule, it will determine the days and hours needed to prioritize your education.

Lucy’s Answer

Balancing full-time work with part-time school requires strong time management and clear priorities. It’s crucial to organize your schedule, using tools like a planner to track work shifts, school deadlines, and personal commitments. Setting realistic goals for each term is important—pace yourself and focus on learning rather than rushing to finish quickly. Open communication with both your employer and professors can provide flexibility when needed, and using spare moments like commutes or lunch breaks for light study can help maximize your time. Equally important is self-care—ensuring you take breaks and avoid burnout is key. Staying organized with your work and school materials and leveraging online resources for flexibility will make the process smoother.

Beverly’s Answer

Hi Genevieve,

This is an important question and the answer encompasses all the previous responses: work/life balance. If you know what your priorties are and plan for them, then you will succeed.

Setting weekly goals, evaluating your progress each day and keeping accountable with someone who is important to you will be helpful.

Best wishes in balancing your life while achieving your goals!

Beverly recommends the following next steps:

Manage your time well with a calendar app, agenda book, etc.
Find support--who is your greatest champion? Is it a parent, friend, spouse, co-worker, etc? Lean on that person if you need to.
Set realistic goals. Do you have the 10 or so hours per week to devote to each class you are taking in addition to working?
What will you give up or at least put on the back burner for the semester?
Talk with your work supervisor about your class schedue and talk with your professors about your work schedule so they understand your situation.

Kristin’s Answer

I find the main thing is mental focus. When you are working, focus solely in the job. When you are at school, think of that as your job. Any breaks in your schedule use to catch up on your studies. Make sure to give yourself 15-20 minutes transition time to shift from one role to the next. If you juggle all of the demands mentally all of the time jkk will be constantly frazzled. Good luck?

Karen’s Answer

Good question! Try to be as organized as possible. Make a list of the important things you need to do each day. Check your list first thing in the morning and again at night. Check off all you accomplish and plan for the next day.

If you're not able to manage both work and school, you might consider asking for fewer work hours. Also remember to enjoy life and be blessed.

With every good wish.
