Martha’s Answer

Hi Debbie - it is great that you want to assist your teacher. Here are some ideas:
- If you have an active PTA or PTO (parent teacher organization), they may be able to help or do some fundraising on her behalf.
- If not, some civic organizations or local philanthropic organizations may be able to help. Civic organizations could include Rotary Club or Lions, and local philanthropic organizations could include community foundations or family foundations
- Local businesses or local branches of larger companies (such as banks or grocery stores) may be able to at least subsidize
- If none of those options work, your teacher could create a project on Donors Choose (see link below). My family members have used this before, and it works great
- Lastly, Microsoft itself has many programs for educators (see two links below). Perhaps your teacher could get the materials needed (or at least a better price) from one of them

Good luck!

Martha recommends the following next steps:

Donors Choose - https://www.donorschoose.org/
Microsoft discounts for education - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/education
Microsoft resources for educators - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/educator-center/?source=mec

Patrick’s Answer

Absolutely, educators can seek out scholarships or financial aid to meet the demands of their classrooms, including the need for resources like Microsoft products. A wide range of organizations, foundations, and corporations extend monetary support specifically tailored for teachers to uplift their classrooms. For instance, DonorsChoose is a platform where teachers can post their project needs for classroom supplies, including software and technology.

Moreover, certain educational bodies and businesses provide teacher grants that cater to specific classroom requirements or opportunities for professional growth.

You can also explore Microsoft Education grants or discounts, as they frequently run programs aimed at assisting schools and teachers in acquiring essential software and tools. If your school district is grappling with budget issues, forging partnerships with local businesses or community groups could be beneficial, as they might have funding initiatives intended to bolster education. By proactively pursuing these opportunities and articulating how the materials will enhance your students' learning experience, you stand a better chance of securing the needed support for your classroom.
