You're asking a great question, and I think there are a few tangible steps you can take to make sure you do justice to your accolades and hard work from high school. First, read as many successful application essays from students who have gotten into schools you are applying to, especially if they maybe come from a similar background or have similar life experiences. Second, start putting yourself in the shoes of the admissions committee. What are the things that the committee needs to know about you to give you a spot at their institution? Once you figure out what those things are then you need to start drafting a convincing argument that tells a cohesive story of your qualifications. Then ask yourself, would you be a worthwhile addition to the institution -- are you providing something unique and additive that will make their institution a better place? Third, be yourself! Similar to any sort of relationship, if an institution decides you're not the right fit for them, then it's probably for both of your best interests'. Based on your work and performance, if they don't think you would be a good fit, then you just have to accept that they might be right. The more honest you can be about your performance, interests, accolades, etc. the more likely it is that the admissions office can piece together if you are a good fit for them are or not.

Hello Kai, what an excellent query! When it comes to creating a remarkable college admissions essay, the secret lies in setting yourself apart from the crowd. You can achieve this by expressing your unique worldview. Highlight how you transform your passions into tangible actions. Universities are eager to see the positive influence you could bring to their community. Providing solid instances where you've actively participated in your local community or assumed leadership roles to bring about change are fantastic examples. These can effectively demonstrate your distinctive qualities and your ability to use them to effect positive transformations.

Usually good pacing and a strong personal voice. When writing a college essay you're essentially introducing and pitching yourself to the college. As such be sure to highlight personal accomplishments and your career aspirations. You want to write it in a way where the person reading it is getting to know you, instead of it feeling like they're reading a condenced biography. Map out the general ideas you want to get across in the essay. Organize them in a way where each one flows into the next. After that it's all about writing and proofreading until you feel you've hit the mark.
