Good for you planning ahead and asking for advice! Already you've taken the first step in being successful.

Skills like communication, organization, flexibility, teamwork, and goal setting are a few of the areas to develop. Think about areas where you feel you are not strong and concentrate on them.

One way of building skills is by volunteering for a variety of causes. Offer to help various nonprofits at events. Serve meals to those in need, help with set up or take down at an event. Even things like helping your neighbors by running errands can add to your list of what you've accomplished when it's time to complete a college application or a resume.

Remember to enjoy life and keep the faith!

With every good wish.
